Course description:
Ninth-grade science students in Bloomington will investigate natural phenomena in order to explain Earth’s place in the universe, Earth’s systems, and the interactions of humans with our Earth. Students will use a variety of technologies, models, higher-order thinking skills, and inquiry-based investigations to understand the interactions and workings of geologic, atmospheric and climate systems, and the universe. By gaining an understanding of these core ideas, students will be able to develop informed opinions on social and ethical issues related to science. This understanding will enhance their environmental awareness and will help them to develop an appreciation for the systems of our dynamic Earth.
